This is an effort by President Obama to develop a conservation and recreation agenda worthy of the 21st century and to reconnect Americans with our great outdoors. To accomplish this goal, the Administration?s effort will be community driven. Our board chair says: "We must continue to ask for more stringent oversight into the chemicals that are being dumped in our neighborhoods and the other costs incurred besides cleanup?. Health of humans and our spaceship-Earth."
Listening Session on Environmental Issues

Where:1402 Third Avenue Suite 1400 Seattle.

Environmental Listening Session with OMB Watch, People for Puget Sound, and others.
A good government group called OMB Watch is partnering with some mainstream environmental groups for a "Listening Session" on June 30--they hope to identify key issues and create a plan for the Obama administration to address them. Their announcement says "We hope to hear from you about what information, tools, and openness policies would best help your group meet its goals. These issues might
include:
Expanding monitoring of air and water quality; . Disclosing the health impacts of new chemicals;
Instilling greater transparency and public involvement in the pollution permitting process;
Enhancing the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI);
Many other issues... we're asking you to tell us what you need."
With the new emphasis on EJ at the national and regional levels, this could be a good opportunity for grassroots activists to press our agenda forward.
Please attend and make your voice heard!
